Learning multiplication facts tend to be tough for most kids. Memorizing times tables can seem to be an impossible task in their eyes. Every kid learns in their own way which creates a difficult task for teachers. Unfortunately, there are kids that catch on, and some that fall behind.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Nobody knows a child like their parents or guardians. Being able to support this learning AT HOME will help all kids with their confidence when it comes to mastering multiplication.

Games can be a great way to motivate kids to learn without them even realize it. Here are some useful games that you can play with your kids at home in order to get them motivated to learn.
There are many different types of multiplication games that you can create with a dominoes set. Feel free to create your own, or you can use instructions for a simple game below.
How to play:
Place all the dominoes face down on a table. Flip over one domino and multiply the number of dots on each side together. If you say the correct answer, you keep the domino. Parents can challenge their child in the game to see who can get the most dominoes.
This game can help with not only memorizing multiplication facts, but also increases speed.

Just like the dominoes set, a traditional deck of cards can come in useful when learning multiplication. There are many types of games that you can find online but here is my favorite card game…. WAR!
How to play:
Split the deck of cards evenly (you can split the 52 card deck in half to make for a faster game). Both players turn over the top card in their pile at the same time. Whatever number they show you multiply together.
The first person to say the right answer keeps both cards. Face cards (jacks, queens, kings, and aces) can be taken out of the deck or used as the following:
The fist person to collect all the cards wins the game.

4. Online Games
Kids love being able to play games online. There are many multiplication games that could help kids learn fast. Please use parental caution before letting your children visit websites. Gaming websites could possibly portray inappropriate content through advertisements, links, etc.
Some good websites to check out are Aplus Math, Prodigy, Mathville, and Math Playground.
*Note: I recommend hands on games with your kids BEFORE computer games… but that is just my preference.
